Welcome to my music studio. When I received my bachelors degree in music education from Mansfield University in 2004 I knew that teaching privately and performing was what I wanted to do. I teach private lessons Monday-Thursday in four different locations and play professional on the weekends. My goal is to teach efficiently and effectively while making it fun and enjoyable.
Fee:
My fee is $80 a month for four half hour lessons. Fee is due at the beginning of the month. A late charge of $10 will incur if payment is not received by the 15th of each month. Payment can be in the form of CASH or CHECK. If paying by check, please make it out to Molly Rahe-Randall. If there are 5 Monday or Tuesdays in a month, that month will be used for make up lessons if needed.
Missed Lesson Policy:
A 24 hour notice is needed when canceling a lesson. Please notify me by calling my cell phone (717-586-8039), a text message, or by email: missmolly27@mollyrahe.com. In case of an emergency or illness, please contact me as soon as possible.
If you are sick in any way, you need to cancel your lesson. I have preemie twins at home and cannot take any risk of having sick people in the house. I will make up the lesson if you contact me to make arrangements to do so.
A two weeks notice is required to terminate lessons.
If your child forgets to bring home their instrument or music you can still have them come to their lesson. If I don’t have an instrument or spare music for them to use, I will take that lesson to review musical terms related to their instrument. If you choose to cancel for this reason, a make up will not be given and full payment for that lesson will be required.
Make Up Lessons:
Lessons will only be made up if there is a 24 hour notice given at cancellation, or if cancellation occurs due to an emergency or illness. Lessons will not be made up if you forget to come or for last minute cancellations. Parents are responsible for scheduling the make up. If I need to cancel, I will reschedule the lesson, if needed. Lessons will only be prorated if I have to cancel and cannot reschedule.
If a make up lesson is cancelled, it cannot be rescheduled and the lesson will be forfeited.
No Lessons during the following Holidays:
Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, July 4th
Holidays and Snow:
In case of snow, I will contact you if lessons will be cancelled or the lesson may be cancelled at the discretion of the parent or student. I feel safety is most important. If school is cancelled due to snow, lessons will automatically be cancelled.
I now have a lap top which has skype and ichat. During the winter months when the weather is bad, if you have skype or ichat and do not want to cancel the lesson, I will be able to give the lesson over skype or ichat. This is a great option if you do not want your child to miss a week due to bad weather.
Etiquette for My Home:
When entering my home, please go up the stairs and to the left. That is the waiting room area. The bathroom is opposite of the studio if you need to use the restroom. Parents are more than welcome to come in, sit on the couches and wait. I ask that you please be respectful of my home. Please stay in the waiting room area. Items on the coffee table are for you to look at as well as the game which you can play. All other items in the waiting room are for decoration only. I ask that they not be touched or played with. Most things in that room were given to me as a gift and are sentimental. If you are bringing other children into my house, please make sure that they are sitting quietly in the waiting room. Loud sounds coming from the waiting room can be distracting during a lesson. If children have home work to work on, they may use the coffee table to do their work or they can sit on the floor and use a binder. Several pen marks have been found on the couches and I ask that you please be careful. If these rules cannot be followed, I will have to ask you to wait elsewhere during their lesson. If it continues to be a problem I will have to terminate your child’s lesson. My husband and I have worked very hard to be able to afford and furnish our home. We ask that you please help us to keep it in excellent condition.
Please note: By starting or continuing lessons, you are agreeing to abide by the policy sheet.
